Porcelain Mist — Eastern Canton Dancong Oolong (Medium Oxidized, Light Charcoal Roast)
Porcelain Mist is a tea shaped by stone, mist, and nearly a century of quiet cultivation — grown at 500–700 meters in Jiangjunhu Village (將軍湖村), tucked at the southern foot of the Danan Mountain Range (大南山脉) in Eastern Canton. Here, large sun-warmed rocks radiate night heat, pear trees perfume the breeze, and morning fog drifts low across the old tea gardens. It is an environment that sculpts a tea of calm strength, mineral depth, and fragrant clarity.
Crafted from the Dancong (單欉) cultivar, Honey Orchid variety (蜜蘭香), each leaf is gently oxidized around 35–45%, then finished with a light charcoal roast that deepens its sweetness without disturbing its natural floral lift. The result is a cup that feels like its name — smooth, translucent, and quietly radiant, like light diffused through fine porcelain.
Flavor & Aroma
The aroma rises with notes of floral nectar, pear blossom, and honey orchid, carried by a clean mountain sweetness. As it opens, Porcelain Mist reveals hints of ripe stone fruit, citrus zest, and the distinct mineral warmth of Danan’s rocky soil.
On the palate, the tea is simultaneously elegant and expressive: a graceful balance of orchid fragrance, soft fruit, and the signature “dancong clarity” — finishing long, sweet, and lightly warming. Cold-brewed, its fragrance becomes crystalline, highlighting fruit nectar and a dew-like brightness.
Mouthfeel
Porcelain Mist lives up to its name: smooth, cooling, and porcelain-soft.
The liquor glides with a silky weight, then lifts into a cleansing, airy finish. Its texture is supple and refined — a contradiction of richness and quiet restraint — leaving a lingering sweetness that feels both floral and mineral.
Origin & Craft
Sourced from Jiangjunhu Village, in the mist-wrapped foothills of the Danan Mountain Range, this tea comes from gardens with a long lineage of Dancong cultivation. The region’s unique balance of stone, mist, and fruit trees shapes the tea’s fragrance and clarity.
Leaves are handpicked from mature trees, withered in mountain air, gently shaken to bruise the edges, and oxidized with precision before undergoing a light charcoal roast — a traditional finishing that enhances aroma while preserving purity.
Cold-brewed for 10 hours in New York City using pH-neutral Catskill Mountain water, Porcelain Mist translates the mountains’ serene floral sweetness into a contemporary ritual of balance and presence.
Mood & Experience
To drink Porcelain Mist is to enter a moment of still elegance — a space where the world slows, details sharpen, and the senses clear. It brings calm alertness, gentle warmth, and the quiet confidence of a tea balanced between floral, mineral, and time.
Perfect for reflection, conversation, or creative flow, Porcelain Mist is a companion for those seeking beauty in subtlety — a cup that feels like mist over porcelain: soft, glowing, and endlessly refined.
